Research & Technology

Hikal has robust capabilities in research and technology

Overview

Our Research & Technology division partners with innovator companies in pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals and animal health areas to develop innovative, cost effective and safe processes for NCEs, generic molecules as well as provide life cycle management for existing molecules for global clients.

Client first

Hikal has an impeccable track record of delivering active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), active ingredients (AIs) and intermediates to global clients with outmost confidentiality. Our facilities are built to meet the specific needs of clients and stringent requirements of the United States, European, and Japanese markets.

Green chemistry

Our comprehensive environment, health and safety (EHS) policy ensures that the interests of all constituents are safeguarded. Processes are developed at our R&T centre with significant focus on process understanding with a view to increasing yield and throughput as also on optimization of effluent treatability processes. We use statistical analysis tools like DOE for optimizing process development. Strong mechanistic understanding and use of process simulation tools render scaleup facile and efficient. We try to imbibe the 12 principles of Green Chemistry during the process development. We are the only company from India that is part of the ACS GCPRI (American Chemical Society Green Chemistry Pharma Roundtable Institute), the activities of which reflect its member's shared belief that the pursuit of green chemistry and engineering is imperative for business and environmental sustainability. Additionally, we also focus on waste treatability as part of our development projects and ensure that it is a part of the lab report before scaleup.
