Hikal
in association with Bombay Gymkhana hosts the
Hikal Cup Invitation Tennis Tournament for Corporates
every year.
Hikal Cup, is an exceptional three-day series
which has teams from leading corporate houses
such as Reliance Industries, HSBC, TCS, MTNL,
BNP Paribas and BPCL to name a few that strive
for the top honours at the Bombay Gymkhana-Hikal
Cup Corporate Tennis Tournament.
Over the years Hikal Cup has gained lot of popularity
amongst the tennis aficionados and corporate houses
thereby witnessing increased participation every
year.
This year, the tournament was
scheduled, from February 29 to March 2, 2008 and
had around 32 teams from leading corporate houses
vying for the Hikal Cup. The tournament started
with an inaugural match by National Award winning
actor and avid tennis player, Naseerudin. The
tournament was on knock-out basis with each team
playing two singles and one doubles match.
Like always, this year too Reliance 'A' was the
proud winner of the Hikal Cup. In an exciting
championship round, Reliance 'A' sealed the victory
with a 6-3, 6-4 win against Yogeshwar International
in the 7th Hikal Cup Corporate Tennis.
